Women’s Gathering

Support group for immigrants and newcomers living in South Riverdale. Women have the opportunity to meet with each other, share concerns and information, build skills and take part in activities. A variety of health professionals are invited to make presentations and answer questions. Childcare, TTC and refreshments are provided.

Topics include:

  • housing
  • employment
  • food (access and nutrition)
  • health
  • stress

Activities include:

  • discussions
  • presentations
  • cooking
  • arts and crafts
  • community outings

Women often ask:

  • “Where can I get computer training?”
  • “How can I make healthy meals for my family on a budget?”
  • “How do I get my landlord to fix my apartment?”
  • “Where can my children go for after-school activities?”
  • "I’m really stressed. What can I do?!”
